MON 9TH When it comes to todays rehearsal we worked on the number, Don't stop believing. This number is the final number of the show. We started off by singing through the number for a bit and then we went straight into the choreography. The choreography itself is quite simple having simple moves happening on certain lines/ words of the song. Personally I felt that todays rehearsal went quite well as we were able to complete a whole number within our rehearsal time. TUE 10TH Today we had a shorter after college rehearsal in which we went over the whole of act one and ran it through. For it being our first run through, I felt that it went quite well overall as we where able to flow each scene into each other and made it run for the amount of time it needed to. For me, doing this run helped me highlight areas where I knew I needed to re-cap dance sections or dialogue. Along with this, I discovered that I needed to get a more clear idea of the running order of the show so that it easi...

DISCLAIMER Unfortunately this week I was unwell near the end of the week, so was not present for the rehearsals. However this meant that I had done some of my own personal practice of songs and dances when I have found time over the weekend so I didn't get to behind. MON 2ND When it came to todays lesson/rehearsal we went over the number heaven and also went over some scenes that we had already done so that we could keep them fresh in our minds and make sure that they were as polished as they could be. By doing this it allows us to remember and keep the quality of past scenes at their best while we learn and do new scenes. For me, todays rehearsal felt quite chill but definitely tested my brain when it came to remembering little changes that we had done to a couple of scenes. When it comes to todays rehearsal I could also feel that my stage presence was improving along with my characterisation of my character, Waitress.  Overall, todays rehearsal went very well and we got quite a b...

MON 25TH In todays lesson, we started by going through everything that we had learnt and done so far from scenes to songs. In this run through some areas of issue were stated and dealt with so that it could run smoothly in future run throughs. Along with this we also added in some choreography for the ensemble for we built this city that we could do in the background of the number to add some levels and involvement for the ensemble. For me, I was part of the ensemble and felt that although the choreography was simple, it was very effective for the number. TUE 26TH In todays rehearsal, it was a smaller one held after school for only an hour. However, we were able to get through a whole number during this. The scene that we did today was for heaven, and this heavily involved my character, Waitress #2 (Maria). During this rehearsal I felt that I could have used the time a little more effectively and focused a bit more than I did. But with what we got done in the rehearsal, I felt the qual...

MON 18TH When it came to todays rehearsal we went over the opening number and finished it off with the help from two ex students of the course. Overall today we all focused very well to learn what we needed to learn to add onto and finish the opening number. At the moment there are still some parts of the dance which need cleaning up or learning a bit more, but the quality so far is very impressive. Today I felt I was a lot more focused in the rehearsal which was very helpful in allowing me to pick up the chorography that was taught today. WED 20TH In todays lesson we did some singing of some of the songs that we had already covered in pervious singing rehearsals and also learn some harmonies of new songs. Everyone in todays lesson worked their hardest despite some being ill and unable to sing as they would normally, but this didn't effect the quality of the work. Personally for me, I found that in this rehearsal I worked well with my peers as we helped each other on harmonies that...

MON 11TH  Monday the 11th was the day that we did auditions for the show Rock of Ages. Going into the audition I was quite nervous and scared about how it was going to go and felt a little under prepared as I only found out recently about the audition. Once I came out of the audition however I felt that it went quite well. I felt that I gave all I could to my performance and singing, but there was definitely room for improvement, For example: Make sure to take more time to learn the audition material, Research more onto the performance and warm up my vocals more before hand. WED 13TH On Wednesday the 13th, we did our first sing throughs of some of the songs for Rock of Ages. In this lesson, It was a combination of both the year 12's and 13's. We did a lot of work on harmonies for the first few songs of the shows. For me, picking up the harmonies was easy work and wasn't to hard nor stressful, but the thing I struggled most with was the timing of coming in with these harmoni...
